Crosstown (and Nexair @ Crosstown) Memphis, Tennessee

Furnished and Installed Glazed Aluminum Curtainwall, Custom Glass Railings & Treads, Decorative Plastic Glazing, Interior Aluminum Partition

Three miles east of downtown Memphis, Tennessee, you’ll find the Crosstown Concourse, a groundbreaking revitalization of the historic Art Deco Sears Mail Order Distribution Center, which originally opened in 1927. With over 1.5 million square feet of space, this order fulfillment center has been transformed into a “Vertical Urban Village,” complete with an array of commercial, healthcare, multi-family, and non-profit functions. All facets of the Crosstown Concourse have been carefully integrated into unique layers, which gives the multi-use facility an air of undeniable innovation.

Tull’s work is especially evident in the heavy glass SC railings staircase in the NexAir corporate headquarters, heavy glass frameworks throughout the structure, and 3Form decorative glazing throughout the Church Health Center. Ultimately, the Crosstown Concourse signifies rebirth–both for a historic building and for the community that surrounds and enriches it.
